ENS (Ethereum Name Service)

A decentralized naming system that maps human-readable names like 'yourname.eth' to Ethereum wallet addresses.

Explained Simply

ENS replaces long hexadecimal wallet addresses with simple names like 'alice.eth.' Instead of sending ETH to '0x1234...abcd,' you send it to 'alice.eth.' ENS names are NFTs that you own and control. They can also point to websites, social profiles, and other blockchain addresses. ENS names are purchased through the ENS app with annual renewal fees. Popular names and short names can be quite valuable. ENS has become a digital identity standard in the crypto ecosystem.

Example

Instead of sharing your 42-character Ethereum address, you tell someone to send crypto to 'yourname.eth' — much easier to remember and less error-prone.
