Explained Simply
In a rug pull, developers create a token, build hype, attract investment, and then drain the liquidity pool or sell their holdings — leaving other investors with worthless tokens. Warning signs include anonymous teams, locked liquidity that isn't actually locked, unrealistic promises, and pressure to invest quickly. Rug pulls are most common with memecoins and DeFi projects on newer chains.
