Recovery steps
Move funds immediately
Transfer all assets to a brand new wallet with a new seed phrase. Do this RIGHT NOW before reading further.
Create a completely new wallet
Generate a new wallet on a clean device. Never reuse the compromised seed phrase for anything.
Transfer assets chain by chain
Move assets from each chain the compromised wallet has access to. Start with the highest-value assets.
Revoke all token approvals
Before moving assets, check for any token approvals on the compromised wallet and revoke them if possible.
Check for staked or locked assets
Don't forget assets that may be staked, in DeFi protocols, or otherwise locked. Unstake and move them.
Secure your new seed phrase properly
Write it on paper, store it in a secure physical location. Never store it digitally.
Report if stolen
If funds were already taken, report to relevant authorities and the platforms involved.
