Node
A computer that maintains a copy of the blockchain and helps validate and relay transactions.
Explained Simply
Nodes are the backbone of any blockchain network. Full nodes store a complete copy of the blockchain and independently verify every transaction against the network's rules. Light nodes store only block headers and rely on full nodes for detailed data. Running a node strengthens the network's decentralization and lets you verify transactions without trusting anyone else. Anyone can run a Bitcoin or Ethereum node with consumer hardware and a broadband connection.
