Explained Simply

Validators are the equivalent of miners in proof-of-stake networks. They stake tokens as collateral and are responsible for confirming transactions and proposing new blocks. Honest validation earns rewards; dishonest behavior gets their stake 'slashed.' Anyone can delegate their tokens to a validator to earn a share of rewards without running the node yourself. Choosing a reliable validator is important — downtime or misbehavior can affect your rewards.
